The Surry County Board of Supervisors has scheduled several public hearings to take place during their Thursday, June 2, 2016 meeting:

The Virginia Department of Transportation and the Board of Supervisors of Surry County, in accordance with Section 33.1-70.01 of the Code of Virginia, will conduct a joint public hearing in the General District Court Room of the Surry County Government Center, 45 School Street, Surry, Virginia at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016.  The purpose of this public hearing is to receive public comments on the proposed Secondary Six-Year Road Improvement Plan for Fiscal Years 2017 through 2022 in Surry County.  Copies of the proposed Plan may be reviewed in the Department of Planning at the Surry County offices located at 45 School Street, Surry, Virginia.

All projects in the Secondary Six-Year Plan that are eligible for federal funds will be included in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), Which documents how Virginia will obligate federal transportation funds.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 NOTICE is hereby given that the Surry County Board of Supervisors has scheduled a public hearing for Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 7:00pm in the General District Courtroom of the Surry County Government Center, 45 School Street, Surry, Virginia 23883, to hear public comments and consider Ordinance 2016-01, a revision of the Surry County Subdivision Ordinance.  Copies of the draft ordinance are available for review and inspection by the public in the Office of the County Administrator, Surry County Government Center, 45 School Street, Surry, Virginia.  Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

PUBLIC HEARING

 

Surry County's budget summary is prepared and published for informative and fiscal planning purposes only.  The inclusion in the budget of any item does not constitute an obligation or commitment on the part of the Board of Supervisors of the County to appropriate any funds for that item or purpose.  The budget has been presented on the basis of the estimates and requests submitted to the County Administrator by the several offices and department heads of the County.  There is no allocation or designation of any funds of this County for any purpose until there has been an appropriation for that purpose by the Board of Supervisors.  The Board of Supervisors of Surry County will, on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 7:00 pm or shortly thereafter, hold a public hearing in the General District Courtroom in the Surry County Government Center to consider the following proposed budget for the year ending June 30, 2017.  The public hearing is held pursuant to §15.2-2506 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, and is for the purpose of allowing the public to comment on the proposed budget.
